This Week’s Contest: If I'd Only Known...

In our last contest, we asked you for your best methods for teaching prepositions. Sylvia M. in Lima, Peru tells her students that the preposition "about" is usually associated with feeling verbs (e.g., happy, sad, angry, nervous, etc.) If they still use the wrong preposition with such verbs, she starts singing the song, "Feelings" to remind them! We therefore award five free English Toolbox credits to Sylvia (although maybe we should give them to her suffering students?).

For our next contest, tell us what you wish you had known before you became an English teacher that would have made your first job easier. Send your ideas to info@englishtoolbox.com by 31 August, and don't worry if you're not yet an English Toolbox subscriber: you can still get the credits and use them to download exercises. Good luck!
