This Week's Contest: Leisure Time in Your Host Country

For our last contest, we asked if you ever use your students’ native language in the classroom. Most of you replied that you try to keep the classes English-only, but occasionally use the L1 to translate an English word. As Bob T. in Paris put it, "I use synonyms and even pantomime as much as possible, but I’ll resort to the French word rather than slow down the class too much." Sounds very practical, Bob -- you win five free credits!

For our next contest, tell us how you spend your free time in your host country. Do you travel, hang out with other expats, study the local language, or stay in your apartment? The most interesting submission will win its author five free English Toolbox credits, even if s/he does not currently subscribe. Send your contributions to info@englishtoolbox.com by 15 February.
